“Hello”

“I’m Adam,
we manufacture our FreeForm lenses exclusively in the UK”

Rawdon Optical Freeform Designs

We currently manufacture a single vision range of freeform lenses and two back surfaced freeform varifocals, freestyle HD (18 or 16mm minimum fitting heights) & Bespoke HD (14mm minimum fitting height)

What exactly is freeform?

Conventional varifocals have the progression moulded into the front surface, and the distance prescription is worked on the back surface.

The new advanced freeform designs are customised to every type of prescription as the progression is created on the back surface.  This results in vision which has less distortions, less swim effect and consistently wider distance, intermediate and reading zones.

Individually Designed

The spherical front surface eradicates distortions resulting from variations in front surface magnification.

Lenses are manufactured using 10 front base curve options resulting in significantly reduced oblique astigmatism when compared to front surface progressives which are produced using only 4 or 5 front base curve options.

Design & Manufacture

Theoretically any curve that is mathematically possible can be generated using freeform surfacing, however whilst an accurate lens is produced, its performance will only be as good as its design allows.

In other words, "freeform technology is only valuable when it's paired with excellent lens design"
